Most of employers DO NOT offer accommodation included in the work contract. Accommodation in a hostel can cost between 30 € and 80 € per week. If you search on your own a rent in the Netherlands, this will probably cost around 300-500 € per month for a room in a shared house or apartment and around 650 – 1.000 € for a whole apartment or small house, depending on location. In big cities, like Amsterdam or Utrecht, the amount may be much higher. If you want to stay in the Netherlands for more than four months, you must register at the town hall where you live.
If your employer is providing accommodation, always ask how and what you have to pay. Set the conditions always in writing on a contract. If they offer you a living space, it must be habitable.
If you have complains about the quality of accommodation, you must always ask first the owner of the building first. If he or she takes no action please contact the municipal authorities. NLwork is not providing any accommodation, nor is responsible for any complains about that.
Here you can find rooms, apartments and houses for rent in all cities across the Netherlands. The site has complete version with descriptions in English.
